I’m Halle Cherry—licensed therapist, Jesus follower, and founder of For the Sheepish Counseling Ministries.
This space was born out of a deep desire to create the kind of care I wish more people knew was possible. A space where your faith and mental health can sit in the same room. Where your story matters, and your struggles are met with grace, not shame.
The name comes from Luke 15:6, where the Shepherd rejoices over the one sheep who wandered and returned home. That verse reminds me we’re never too far gone to be found. We’re all a little sheepish sometimes—but we’re always welcomed home.
For the Sheepish exists to hold space for every season of soul and story. You don’t have to be “fixed” to be fully seen here. Just come as you are.
I take an integrative, person-centered approach to counseling, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), EMDR, and Positive Psychology. I tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs, experiences, and goals, using evidence-based interventions to support meaningful and lasting change.
As a Christian counselor, I believe faith can be an important part of the healing process. I integrate Christian faith and evidence-based clinical practice in a way that honors your story, values, and beliefs. My goal is to create a space where you feel understood, supported, and equipped with practical tools for growth and healing.
My hope is that this space becomes more than a place for coping—
it’s a place for becoming.
A space where you feel seen, grounded, and reminded that you’re not too far gone for grace.
Let’s talk about what you're walking through—no pressure, just a safe space to start.
